During our junior year of highschool us along with two other classmates were given an oppurtunity to create a documentary regarding a social justice issue that we felt needed more attention. The documentary topic was about the digital divide occuring within schools and we gave possible resolutions to the disparity. We chose this topic because we know that without the laptop and other technologies that our school lends every year we would not be able to complete the work assigned to us. This is an issue that many other people experience, but the lending of devices is not possible for every campus. Leaving many people in an abyss of educational uncertainity. We saw of the effects of the digital divide heavily once COVID-19 emerged and close an adbundance of schools causing many campuses to struggle switching to virtual learning. Two out of the four of us who created the documentary participated in 2020 Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program. We wanted to continue our activism surrounding this topic and bring more awareness to the general public, so we created this website. In this website we hope that our audience is able to adequately understand the digital divide and use their new found knowledge to advocate to their community.
